The utter insanity here is almost beyond belief.

Yes, it is. But the insanity is to maintain that Democrats oppose wiretaps aimed at gathering intelligence against al Qaeda. None of them do, and you know this.

The actual debate is this: Is the President bound by the law, or can he violate it at will? This, of course, is something you are unwilling to discuss—hence the lies about what some conveniently unnamed Democrats allegedly believe.

I will discuss with anyone – who wants to talk about the topic I posted.

Fine. Let’s do that. You state:

However, [Democrats] ARE opposed to wiretapping my fictional conversation with Osama

Name them. Which specific Democrats have gone on record stating that they are opposed to wiretapping any conversation with ObL?

No names? No facts? No surprise there…

What, exactly, worries you about the government monitoring international calls to suspected terrorists?

As has already been pointed out: There is no serious opposition to legal wiretaps directed against suspected terrorists. The issue is that President Bush violated the FISA statute in ordering wiretaps without seeking the necessary warrants.

Like your comrades here, Kender, you are afraid to discuss that topic. Since you cannot discuss the facts, you fall back on smear tactics.

I am overjoyed, Kender, to find that when I give you a command, you leap to obey. I ordered you to prove to us that you were utterly incapable of answering a simple, relevant question. Like your pal Ogre, you did exactly that.
