This is how wingnuts “think”. If they know they cannot win on the basis of their arguments (and they all know that), then they have no moral compunctions against committing cold-blooded murder.

Patrick Adkins and his kind are dangerous psychopaths and enemies of democracy. They must be opposed at every turn.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has admitted that Republican opposition to President Obama’s actions regarding the uprising in Libya are largely driven by partisan politics:

The only thing I can tell you at this point is that there are differences. I’m not sure that these kind of differences might not have been there in a more latent form when you had a Republican president. But I do think there is more of a tendency to pull together when the guy in the White House is on your side. So I think some of these views were probably held by some of my members even in the previous administration, but party loyalty tended to mute them. So yeah, I think there are clearly differences and I think a lot of our members, not having a Republican in the White House, feel more free to express their reservations which might have been somewhat muted during the previous administration.

Republicans are venal, parochial, and focused solely on the acquisition and retention of political power. We didn’t need any further evidence of this, but thanks anyway, Mitch!

My good Twitterfriend Joan (aka @LibertyBelle4) has just inaugurated her new blog at PersonallyPolitical.com. Joan is equal parts sarcasm, ferocity, intelligence, and compassion. She pulls no punches, tells it exactly as she sees it, and tolerates no fools. In short, she is worth getting to know.

Wingnuts have a hard time understanding that if you make a claim, you gotta back it up with facts. Case in point: my recent Twitter exchange with @ChrisOfRights.

“Chris” posted the following claim on his blog, absent any factual evidence:

…[T]the left likes to portray Robin Hood as their hero…

Apparently, we’re supposed to believe “Chris” just Because! He! Says! So!. The idea that he might be challenged to back up this claim with facts never occurs to this sort of wingnut, so of course, that’s exactly what I did:

.@ChrisOfRights You claim “left likes to portray Robin Hood as their hero”. O RLY? Cite major liberal politicians/commentators who say this.

You can read the exchange for yourself, but here’s a quick summary of what “Chris” claimed as his “evidence”:

• A comic book (excuse me, “graphic novel”) by an obscure retired professor entitled “Robin Hood: People’s Outlaw and Forest Hero”
• A press release for that same book
• A New York Times article from 2009 entitled A Hero (or Villain) for the Left (or the Right)

Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit is a well-known wingnut blogger, and loves to pass judgement on others. Today he declared that ”[Leftists] have no morals.”

Let’s take a good close look at Jim Hoft’s morals, shall we?

• Jim Hoft lied about Sarah Palin’s mangling of US history.
• Jim Hoft lied about President Obama ’[skipping] Easter’.
• Jim Hoft lied about President Obama’s May 19 speech on the Mideast peace process.
• Jim Hoft lied about the turnout at a recent Tea Party ‘rally’ in Tuscon.
• Jim Hoft lied about the cost to clean up after recent protests at the Wisconsin state capitol.
• Jim Hoft blamed CBS reporter Lara Logan for getting raped during the riots in Cairo.
• Jim Hoft lied about the White House having prompted the audience at a memorial service to applaud.

Jim Hoft has a long, sordid, and well-documented history of lying over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I don’t know how to say this any more clearly:

Jim Hoft is a lying imbecile who abides by no moral code whatsoever. Jim Hoft is utterly and absolutely unqualified to comment on the morals of anyone else.

I was going to spend half the day composing a long, profound meditation on l’affair Weiner, but I realize that I cannot do better than Angry Black Lady at Balloon Juice:

As of this afternoon, no one in the MSM has bothered to report on the Clarence Thomas connection. I fully believe that Breitbart’s cronies knew for weeks about this Weiner business and timed it to distract from the real issue which, as Allan Brauer pointed out last week, is CLARENCE THOMAS. Whether or not Anthony Weiner is a dipshit for lying about his junk photos (and in my view he is, not because I give a shit what goes on between two consenting adults and the lies that inevitably result when a person is busted for their sexual chicanery, but because he wasted TEN DAYS that could have been spent finding another Democrat to pick up the Clarence Thomas ball and run with it), the fact remains that he is the only Democrat who was making a stink about the Friday evening Thomas financial document dump.

So now the MSM is going to kiss Breitbart’s ass while he crows about how awesome he is. And by the time the dust settles, not one person (besides Allan, apparently) will have examined just what the fuck is going on with Clarence Thomas and his Teabilly wife.

Amen, sister.

There’s pig vomit, there’s horseshit, there’s pond scum… and then there is Ezra Dulis.

Dulis is a faux “journalist” working for serial liar Andrew Breitbart. The Breitbart empire has lately been exploring new frontiers of sleazy mendacity (or perhaps mendacious sleaze) by mounting an attack on New York Congressman Anthony Weiner. I won’t go into the slimy details; you can find those elsewhere. Dulis, however, plumbs new depths of phony concern:

…Weiner’s reluctance to spend the few minutes necessary to ask Twitter or Yfrog to publicly corroborate his explanation of the tweet is causing suffering for private citizens Gennette Nicole Cordova and Dan Wolfe. Cordova has revealed on Twitter that journalists have harassed and accosted her friends and family in person, and Wolfe has received death threats due to allegations that he was involved in sending the tweet from the @RepWeiner account. As reported earlier on Big Government, Wolfe insists that a forensic investigation would prove he did not hack into Congressman Weiner’s Twitter or Yfrog. Had Weiner contacted either company on Friday evening or Saturday morning, Wolfe and Cordova would not be facing the same ordeals they do now.

For pity’s sake, will someone get Ezra a crying towel? Dan Wolfe is the wingnut turd who launched this circus with his phony screenshot. And Dulis takes painful care to avoid the fact that Ms. Cordova’s identity was revealed by multiple right-wing websites (including Big Government).

This is what scum like Ezra Dulis do for a living: invent a scandal, drag others into it, and then cry big fat crocodile tears over the suffering of the people they have deliberately victimized. The Breitbart media cesspool is designed for the specific purpose of spreading lies and hatred, and Ezra Dulis is happily wallowing in the excrement.
