Raven’s unsurprising dishonesty

Please read the following excerpt from a recent Washington Post article:

PICKING UP our dusty copy of Joe Biden’s autobiography the other day, we were struck by two points that underscore Mr. Biden’s value to Barack Obama as his running mate. The first was the degree to which the young Biden’s message, as a 29-year-old Senate candidate in 1972, anticipated the themes struck by Mr. Obama more than three decades later. “We must have public officials who will stand up and tell the people exactly what they think,” Mr. Biden said in announcing his candidacy.

Normal people would read that and understand that in that last sentence, the word “they” refers to “public officials”. Of course, Raven is not a normal person. Raven is a lying wingnut who is always willing to twist someone else’s words in the service of her blind hatred of honest discussion:

I don’t need anyone telling me what I think. I’m my own person, and sorry Sir Slimepit Joe, you have no right to tell me what to think.

Yes, that’s right — she actually expects us to believe that Biden was saying that public officials should tell the people what to think. Raven doesn’t even try to hide her gross dishonesty any more.

    I am not so sure that Raven intentionally lied. She is so full of hatred that in her mind she actually read that she was being told what to think. Raven needs to calm down and read what people actually said instead of what she wishes they had said. Continuing with the latter only makes her look silly. It’s not just Raven either. It’s happening with an increasing frequency on conservative blogs.

    Personally I think it reeks of desperation.

    It is interesting, the more natural thing to say if Raven’s interpretation is correct would be, “We must have public officials who will stand up and tell the people exactly what to think.” But that is not what was said. Raven is definitely stretching.

    I think her statement demonstrates her low level of reading comprehension more than anything else. What a surprise… a dumb wingnut!

    Maybe she hasn’t yet mastered the English language?

    I’ve made no such statement. PW should talk to a local adult education facility. I am certain they can help him improve his obviously poor reading comprehension.

    No problems with my reading comprehension, yours, however; are suspect when you misread Amy Proctors statement and admit to it, then get on someone else for doing the same thing.

    Nope. Raven confirms in the comments to her post that she actually meant what she said:

    Raven didn’t misread Biden. Like PW, she is inventing a viewpoint and pretending that someone else holds that viewpoint, so that she can excoriate that person. Like PW, she is intellectually dishonest, and incapable of participating in an honest debate.
