Respected scientist and prolific blogger PZ Myers is under attack for daring to express an opinion about just how ridiculous some Catholics can be. Professional blowhard William Donohue of the Catholic League is trying to get Myers fired.

Go read the facts and write a letter of support to the University of Minnesota on Dr. Myers’ behalf. Thanks.

From Devilstower:

Some politicians never seem to learn that a timetable equals marking a date for “defeat and retreat.” It would be as good as throwing up a white flag, tucking our tail between our legs, turning over Iraq to the militants, and telling al Qaeda to just come and get it.  Who, knowing it would spell doom for the government of Iraq, would suggest such a thing?

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki raised the prospect on Monday of setting a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops as part of negotiations over a new security agreement with Washington.

Oh.

So, what about it, warpimps? Is it “surrender” if we set a timetable for withdrawal because the Iraqis demand it? Do they have soveriegnty, or not?

SF author Charles Stross, in an online discussion:

People buy stuff advertised in spam because, sadly, in aggregate, people are made out of s-t-u-p-i-d.

The halfwit whackaloon that calls himself “Big Dog” seems to be campaigning for the title of “The Internet’s Best Entertainment Value”. His latest stunt starts with another hysterical (and, of course, fact free) rant:

Senator Obama sponsored Senate Bill 2433 which would, in essence, take money from Americans through increased taxes and send that money to the United Nations so that the UN can redistribute it all over the world to end global poverty.

Big Dog naturally could not be bothered to actually read the bill. As Media Matters pointed out some months ago…

…the act would establish no specific funding source, would not commit the United States to any targeted level of spending, and specifically would require the president — not the United Nations — to “develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.”

Well, it really isn’t a surprise. Potty-mouth Misha can’t make an argument using facts, so he lies. Wingnuts lie all the time, and Misha is amongst the most egregious of wingnut fabulists.

Mendacious Misha titled a recent post:

Guns Are Good Tools For What They Were Designed To Do…

and went on to say in the first paragraphs:

…therefore we should ban them!

No, really, that IS what some newsclown from a news agency that shall remain name- and linkless is saying…

No, really, you’re a fucking idiot, Misha. Did you think that no one would go find the original story and check your assertion?

Nowhere in the story does the author, Mike Stobbe, call for a ban on handguns.

It’s just not in there.

That, of course, is why Misha refused to link to the story. He knew he was lying.

But in Misha’s morally vacant world, lying is perfectly acceptable. It’s just a means to an end — just like murder, which Misha exhorts his adoring cretins to commit on a near-daily basis.

The far right has no moral compass. It never did. And there truly is no better example of this in all the world than the lying rat bastard that calls itself ‘Misha’.
