On being a whiny, gutless, troop-smearing cretin

Raven has posted a “defense” of her smear of an Iraq veteran suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (aka PTSD). Let’s have some good old-fashioned rollicking blogfun taking her pathetic excuses apart.

I stand by what I wrote. I am not a doctor. I am not a registered nurse -and I never claimed to be such. I’m really nobody in the command chain in health care.

Apparently, Raven compensates for being a nobody by spitting on veterans who aren’t sufficiently manly enough to come back from the Iraq clusterfuck without PTSD.

I am a Licensed Nursing Assistant. I’ve worked in many health care settings for almost 18 years now: nursing homes, veterans centers, hospice, home health care. Currently I work in a rehab center for brain injured children and young adults. Most of my experience is with this population (15 yrs). The lowly position I hold is the front line of the health care work force: Aides see it all, experience much and have the scars to prove it.

It seems that having “scars” and being “lowly” is all the qualification Raven feels she needs to accuse a veteran of “being the worst that [he] can be”.

I don’t question the existence of PTSD; but I do question people, who have suffered trauma, using it as a reason to behave in certain ways.

Remember, kids: Being a self-confessed lowly nurse’s aide and reading a newspaper story is all you need to justify accusing an Iraq War veteran of “exploitation” and “being the worst that [he] can be”. Spitting on the troops is fun and easy! Just ask Raven!

I call it exploitation. That may be a negative term, but for lack of another word that means the same thing, I go with that.

I call it hating the troops. And that’s exactly the word for it.

No matter what help is offered, it is refused. In my line of work, a patient has the right to refuse any and all treatment. We have to respect the patient’s rights.

And after “respect[ing] the patient’s rights”, Raven publishes a post on her blog sliming him for “exploiting” his condition. This must be some new use of the word “respect” with which we were previously unacquainted.

I did mention my observation that nothing was said about Troy’s prior mental health status. I believe that this is critical information- that would have caused me to better understand his situation. Perhaps I should have been more clear with this?

Perhaps Raven should have just kept her mouth shut after realizing she simply didn’t know enough to arrive at an intelligent, informed opinion about Troy Turner’s condition.

Ha! Who am I kidding? Making an intelligent, informed opinion about Troy Turner’s condition is the last thing Raven would want to do. It’s so much easier, and much more fun, to just post the smear and be done with it!

Much of this is based upon my own personal experience, which I will share simply because it needs to be known I am a human being, with a heart and a soul and feelings and compassion for others.

Pfffffft. Here we will ignore the long poor-pitiful-me story Raven trots out. There is no logical connection between any of Raven’s alleged past and her compulsion to smear war veterans. If she has psychological problems due to past experiences, she should seek professional help. Accusing veterans of “exploiting” their PTSD is not an acceptable form of self-therapy.

I felt the total shame of doing the things I did.

Obviously, Raven now has no capacity to feel shame whatsoever.

I’ve been a MUCH better person for it and continue to live my life in it’s fullest capacity.

It seems that for Raven, life isn’t full without finding a veteran to smear every now and then.

I have every ounce of empathy for Troy…

100% Grade-A horseshit. People with empathy don’t accuse others of “exploitation”, of “being the worst that they can be”, of “tak[ing] advantage” of those around them. Raven hasn’t the slightest ghost of an idea of how to feel, or express, empathy.

He is exploiting his condition and using it at the same time.

Jesus F. Christ, there she goes again. Some hateful little maggots just do not learn from their mistakes, do they?

I hold our military in the highest regard.

More horseshit. When one holds someone “in the highest regard”, one does not accuse that person of “exploitation”, of “being the worst that they can be”, of “tak[ing] advantage” of those around them.

A wounded solider who has PTSD will always hold a special place in my heart…

Yes — as a target for a smear. Raven does love her a good smear.
