Justing Higgins has published a big list that carefully explains what an “unabashed conservative” does. It’s all very impressive, but he left one item out.
On January 12th, 2008, his eighteenth birthday, does Justin “Unabashed Conservative” Higgins plan to enlist in the military and personally fight the war that he has supported so vehemently?
He claims to be fighting an “information war” while he sits at home. Uh huh. The truth is probably far more venal…

Chickenhawk meme.
Useless, irrelevant and utterly futile.
NEXT.

So, Sonnabend, does that mean that in your opinion, it’s okay for someone of military age to pimp the war, but be unwilling to fight it themselves? Even after he said he would fight?

I plan on enlisting you idiot. I’ve made that clear. I’m looking at ROTC, National Guard, Reserves, and yes, active duty military service in one of the branches. I think I need to make the decision, and I am also going to look at what Congress does and what the next President plans to do. If we’re just going to set a timetable for defeat, I’m not going to be part of the losing war. If a President comes in that says, hey, we’re in it to win it, I’ll be analyzing my options and serving my country in some capacity. I’m NOT of military age yet, and when I am, I’ll make my decision.

Well, Justin, you seem to be contradicting yourself. You say that you “need to make the decision”, yet you’ve indicated in the past that the decision has already been made:
Sounds to me like you are backpedalling away from this earlier announcement. Have you found something “more important than defending freedom”?

Seems to me that what he chooses to do, serve or not, basically is none of your fucking business.
So piss off.

Justin has been making public announcements about his intent to join the miltary (or not). He clearly wants his intentions known.
The problem is that his public announcements contradict each other — publicly. They are therefore fair game for comments.

Either way he doesn’t have to explain himself to you, or to anyone else.So again, just who do you think you are?
Who are you to tell him whether to serve or not? Who made you arbiter of anything?
Who says you have any right on how another person lives their life? So I ask again, just what business is it of yours what he does?
So do us all a favour and shut up.

Yes.
It’s called free speech and freedom of opinion.
Deal with it.

“Either way he doesn’t have to explain himself to you, or to anyone else.So again, just who do you think you are?”
I’m someone who reads Justin’s blogs and points out his self-contradictions.
“Who are you to tell him whether to serve or not? Who made you arbiter of anything?”
Kindly point out when and where I “told” Justin he should serve.
Kindly point out where I have attempted to arbitrate anything.
“Who says you have any right on how another person lives their life?”
Kindly point out where I have told Justin how to live his life.
“So I ask again, just what business is it of yours what he does?”
So I explain again:
Justin has been making public announcements about his intent to join the miltary (or not). He clearly wants his intentions known.
The problem is that his public announcements contradict each other — publicly. They are therefore fair game for comments.
“So do us all a favour and shut up.”
No. I intend to continue commenting on Justin’s hypocrisy, and anything else I feel like commenting on.
It’s called free speech and freedom of opinion.
Deal with it.

...if we’re still in major combat operations. A country under Hillary would obviously not be in major combat operations. That’s where the debate is, and the choice will be made, asshole.

Ah. So you put that clause in to leave yourself an escape hatch. How conveeeeeeeeeeenient…
And of course, you fail to address the fact that you will turn eighteen long before the next Presidential election. Nothing like being able to tap-dance away from your earlier commitments, is there, Justin? You’ll make a fine lawyer someday.

Justin Higgins
Not long before. About 10 months before, and I’ll finish school only 6 months before the election. There’s no tap-dancing involved. I’d be out of High School 6 months before the election, and at that point, I’ll be watching to see if the frigid bitch who won’t use our military wins.

Also, are you going to stop being a liberal that doesn’t practice what he preaches and take that sodomizing liberals love so much?

Justin, you said earlier that you would enlist. Now you say you still have to decide. You’re tap-dancing and backpedaling simultaneously… an impressive feat.
I love the fact that you’re basing your opinion of Hillary Clinton on your assessment of her sexuality. It tells us so much more about you than you intended, I am sure.
I’ve no idea what your latter question means. Rephrase, please.

He doesn’t have to explain himself to you. He doesn’t have to do a damned thing he doesn’t want to do.
“Kindly point out when and where I “told” Justin he should serve.”
This whole post is on that theme.
What commitments? Again, who are you to tell him what he has “committed to” or not? He will decide to serve or not, as it suits him.
“Justin has been making public announcements about his intent to join the miltary (or not). He clearly wants his intentions known.”
And if he simply posts nothing more on the topic, you will never know what he did or didn’t do. God you’re a stickybeak.
Didn’t anyone ever tell you to mind your own business? Wlll consider yourself TOLD. This is getting close to obsession, you know that?
Big Dog, Bill, now Justin and some of the others…you’ve been bothering us for months.
“Ah. So you put that clause in to leave yourself an escape hatch. How conveeeeeeeeeeenient…”
“Escape hatch”
As in what reason does he have to justify ANYTHING to you?
Whether he serves or not is up to one person:Justin.
So butt out.
“And of course, you fail to address the fact that you will turn eighteen long before the next Presidential election.”
And you fail to address the fact that what Justin does with his life one way or the other is NONE OF YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS

“This whole post is on that theme.”
Translation: Sonnabend cannot point out any statement I made in which I told Justin he should serve.
“Didn’t anyone ever tell you to mind your own business?”
Yes, many times. I ignored their advice, as I am ignoring yours.

Calling him a coward isn’t goading someone?IO mist have missed that definition.
Y’know, meaty, you’re starting to sound more and more like a stalker. You’re obsessed with the Wide Awakes.
Wanna tell us why? or are you just an OCD addict?

You Are A Fucktard
What kind of man belittles a boy for making plans for his future? Correction: what kind of loser jerk belittles a kid for his dreams of his future? Meatbrain, you are not a man (in any sense of the word). Does it make you feel like one to pick on a kid?? Pathetic.
Justin may be smart and opinionated and accomplished, but he’s still a teenager. His life and his future are none of your concern, even if he publicly announces he wants to fly to the moon someday! You are a sorry piece of work.
You would never even bother to comment on it if Justin dreamed of playing in the Big Leagues, or of becoming a doctor, or of joining the Peace Corps. It seems you only find it necessary to comment because it’s the military – which in your tiny meat mind, is worthy of scorn. What a despicable, petty character you are.

Point out the exact sentence in which I “belittl[ed] [Justin] for making plans for his future”, YAAF. I’ll wait.
Justin is like virtually every other neocon blogger who has pushed for this war from the beginning: Happy to sit at home behind the keyboard and be a cheerleader for the war, but strangely unwilling to actually go out and fight the enemies of freedom they claim are so threatening to our very way of life. I will comment on this obvious lack of personal courage in one’s convictions when and where I choose.
There is, quite honestly, not a thing you can do to stop me, YAAF. But do enjoy your whine. Would you like some cheese to go with it?
June 17th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
Justin Higgins
Meatbrain, I’m sitting at home on a keyboard because I’m finishing High School. Public High School at that. That’s the simple answer.

Justin will do with his life as he damned well pleases. And actually , he is braver man than you will ever be.
He sticks to his principles ands his own conscience, you just rant off liberal talking points
Oh,. and as for your meme
I support the law but I don’t have to join the police
I support health care but I don’t have to become a doctor
I support building bridges but I don’t have to be an architect
I support driving cars but I don’t have to be an engineer
It’s a fallacy, it’s bullshit, and you’re the coward, meathead..were we face to face, I doubt very much you’d have the guts to say one word.
Protected by the anonymity of the internet , you spew off insults and snide cracks…in person? You’d be a snivelling, mewling coward
So much for your “moral stance”
Incidentally…there are lots of comments from Justin’s friends.
Where are yours?

Yes, Justin, I know that. It’s what happens after you finish high school that you’ve put in doubt with your two contradictory statements.
I just think it’s interesting how your priorities have changed as your graduation approaches (note that you originally said you would enlist at 18 — no mention of graduation there), and you start to realize just what a huge clusterf*** the neocons have made of the war in Iraq.

“Calling him a coward isn’t goading someone?”
Cite the specific statement I have made in which I refer to Justin as a “coward”.
Go ahead, Sonnabend. Show us where I’ve said that.
“He sticks to his principles ands his own conscience…”
Yet Justin’s “principles” seem to change as the day when he could enlist grows nearer. That’s what I am commenting on.
