Think Moderate has a well-documented post noting that in his press conference on Tuesday, President Bush lied to the American people about the origins of the “surge”.
Think about this for a moment. The President of the United States, the Commander-in-Chief, chose to deliberately lie about his command decisions. And as a result of his decisions, more American troops are sent to Iraq to die in a conflict for which there can be no military solution. That’s not my claim — that’s the claim of General David Petraeus, the current commander of US forces in Iraq.
Bush lies. Troops die. It really is as simple as that.
