Gather round, boys and girls, and let me again illustrate for you the deceptively simple-minded mendacity of the species bloggerus rightwingnuticca. Today’s specimen is one Ric Ottaiano, who spews his pap at a blog entitled Release the Hounds. One of his recent piles of crap is entitled Muslims Must Clean Up Their Own Nest:
I ask the following questions in good faith and in non-rhetorical fashion. As God is my witness, I honestly seek explanations and answers.
Wait a second. We’ve already seen that Ric does not conduct his discussions in the way an honest man would. He has no compunction about lying, even about his own past statements.
Furthermore, please explain to me why the publishing of cartoons can motivate Muslim populations throughout the world to feel outrage, demonstrate violently and call for action, while the burning of 60 innocent people in a train, or the blowing to bits of innocent people in a courtroom, or the killing of innocent people at a karaoke bar illicits nary a whimper of protest or condemnation.
Here we have further evidence of Ric’s essential intellectual dishonesty. He mentions the riots that occurred last year over cartoons published in Denmark, and claims that they were met with “nary a whimper of protest or condemnation”. Oh, really?...
Islamic officials urge end to riots as 4 protesters die
“Islam says it’s all right to demonstrate but not to resort to violence. This must stop,” said senior cleric Mohammed Usman, a member of the Ulama Council — Afghanistan’s top Islamic organization. “We condemn the cartoons but this does not justify violence. These rioters are defaming the name of Islam.”...
In Baghdad, Iraq’s top Shiite political leader criticized attacks on foreign embassies by Muslims. “We value and appreciate peaceful Islamic protests,” said Abdul Aziz al-Hakim. “But we are against the idea of attacking embassies and other official sites.”
Danes in despair as protesters set fire to consulate in Beirut
The world’s leading Islamic body condemned the violence. “Over-reactions surpassing the limits of peaceful democratic acts . . . are dangerous and detrimental to the efforts to defend the legitimate case of the Muslim world,” the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, representing 57 nations, said.
Caricatures Roil Muslim World
Reuters reports, ’ Syria’s grand Mufti Badr Eddine Hassoun, told government newspaper al-Thawra that the attackers did their country harm. “We feel sorrow that these people who were driven by passion reached the stage where they have undermined our dialogue with the Norwegian and Danes,” he said. ’
The Grand Mufti is the country’s chief religious authority on Islamic law.
It wasn’t hard to find the condemnation Ric Ottaiano claims never occurred. But Ric would never dream of looking for the facts. He prefers ignorance. He needs ignorance. He craves ignorance. And he will never, ever, do anything that might threaten his ignorance.
Don’t go to Ric’s site expecting to find the facts — because facts are anathema to the lies Ric tells. He will avoid the facts at all costs, and he will go right on lying. How does that God of yours feel about liars like you, Ric?

Thoughtless Meat
Actually what he said meatbrain is ” while the burning of 60 innocent people in a train, or the blowing to bits of innocent people in a courtroom, or the killing of innocent people at a karaoke bar illicits nary a whimper of protest or condemnation.” He didn’t say in the quote you provided that the cartoon rioting didn’t elicit “nary a whimper…” he said that the burning of innocents, blowing to bits and killing at a karaoke bar didn’t elicit protest or condemnation. How could you miss that? Oh, maybe it’s because you aren’t above either lying, or misreading, or plain ole being mendacious yourself.

I read that sentence to mean that Muslims protested none of the violence Ric mentions. I am certain we could nitpick the details for days, but the fact remains that Ric — and thousands of rightwing bloggers like him — do not bother to inform themselves of what is happening inside the Muslim world. They’ve swallowed wholesale the fantasy that Muslims are a monolithic entity, and that every single Muslim wants to kill us. Ric says as much in the Flash ad on his site, fer cripes’ sake!
He’s ignorant and wants to stay that way. So far, he’s succeeding.

And you “read that sentence” to mean one thing when it said another?
No way dude…...you can’t read a sentence to mean something that isn’t said…....that would be, (what’s that word again??) oh yeah, extrapolating, and we know you won’t have any truck with that will you meaty old boy?

“Damn meathead, you are, without a doubt the biggest hypocrite on the web…...you want to claim someone ELSE is NITPICKING a point?”
I made no such claim. Read for comprehension, monkeyboy.
Kender, where does Ric give the slightest indication that he took two minutes to check whether any of those incidents were condemned in any way by anyone in the Muslim world?
The simple fact is that he didn’t. Like you, he has a simplistic, jingoistic view of the world. Simple-mindedness is not a survival trait, Kender, but unfortunately it is all that you and Ric and your ilk bring to the table. If and when the terrorism problem is resolved, it won’t be by people who, like you and Ric, guard your ignorance so jealously.
By the way, Kender, it’s been just over ten months. How many Terrifying Brown People™ have you personally captured?
