The right-wing imbecileblogs are all atwitter about Al Gore’s supposed hypocrisy. Seems he actually uses electricity, and they cannot screech their idiotic smears loud or fast enough.

The pinheads of the right, of course, have utterly ignored the facts:

Special to Ric Ottaiano: Go fuck yourself with a broken beer bottle, you ignorant bigoted lying puddle of worm vomit. You wouldn’t acknowledge the facts if they bit you in your palsied ass.

Gribbit (aka Andrew Richardson), that paragon of calm, logical, dispassionate debate, has posted another turd on his cesspool of a site. This one he has entitled “Liberal Idiot and Asshat of the Month Awards Nominations Are In”.

Now recall that this is the same Gribbit who only a few days ago was whining that he was the target of personal attacks — that the so-called “far-left… blogs are nothing but smear attacks on right side bloggers”.

Gribbit, just in case you weren’t aware: You’re a goddamn fucking hypocrite. Have a nice day.

Chris Mooney provides yet another data point in the near-endless saga of the Bush administration’s love of lying:

So in sum, the White House deceived the public, trying to rewrite history and erase Bush’s indelible record of skepticism on the subject of human-caused global warming. It’s pretty outrageous behavior. And I must say, I’m really glad to see it happen.

The White House’s dubious repositioning can really only mean one thing: It’s just not acceptable any more to doubt that the planet’s warming. Previous “skeptics” — like Bush — are embarrassed and backing away. They’re trying to pretend that they never actually said what they said.

Conservatives love to lie. They live to lie. They can barely make an argument without lying. It’s simply in their nature.

Heidi "call me a cold-hearted bitch" Thiess posts some military porn that makes her all hot.

“America’s finest”. Suuuuuuuure…

Gather round, boys and girls, and let me again illustrate for you the deceptively simple-minded mendacity of the species bloggerus rightwingnuticca. Today’s specimen is one Ric Ottaiano, who spews his pap at a blog entitled Release the Hounds. One of his recent piles of crap is entitled Muslims Must Clean Up Their Own Nest:

I ask the following questions in good faith and in non-rhetorical fashion. As God is my witness, I honestly seek explanations and answers.

Wait a second. We’ve already seen that Ric does not conduct his discussions in the way an honest man would. He has no compunction about lying, even about his own past statements.

Furthermore, please explain to me why the publishing of cartoons can motivate Muslim populations throughout the world to feel outrage, demonstrate violently and call for action, while the burning of 60 innocent people in a train, or the blowing to bits of innocent people in a courtroom, or the killing of innocent people at a karaoke bar illicits nary a whimper of protest or condemnation.

Here we have further evidence of Ric’s essential intellectual dishonesty. Read the rest of this entry »

Gribbit is still whining about being the butt of personal attacks — and remains completely oblivious that he himself puts posts on his blog that are nothing but content-free personal attacks.

And in the meantime, he has revealed yet again that there is no lie he won’t tell:

I mean I spend a considerable amount of time reading actual news stories for various sources. Verifying the source of the source and reading intelligent commentary.

Um… no, Gribsie, you don’t. You certainly haven’t in the case of the WorldNutDaily article claiming that a recent California case is meant to decide whether the words "natural family, marriage and family values" constitute "hate speech". Because if you had bothered to find the actual source document — the original decision [PDF]— you would know that the case had nothing to do with “hate speech”. The phrase doesn’t even appear in the decision. And as Ed Brayton has explained, such a decision is impossible in California, because that state has no “hate speech” law. But no… you swallowed the crap that WND published whole, and never bothered to check the facts.

So, Gribsie, it is easy to see that you don’t really research your posts at all. Maybe you could start… but no, that would mean some actual intellectual effort. And you don’t do intellectual effort.

...and takes man-child Gribbit to the woodshed for making a very public show of rank hypocrisy.

Thanks, Ed.

The fundamentally dishonest Dan Paden is at it again. After approvingly quoting some content-free pap from known liar Ann Coulter, he rips off this gem:

Of course, the incredible field of complete nutballs and barely-concealed, baby-murdering, Christophobic socialists that the Democrats seem determined to run for president is actually good news, in a way.

Hey Danny… which of the current field of announced Democratic candidates for President have murdered a baby? Don’t be coy, you mendacious sack of pig vomit. Name some specific names.

Of course, Danny won’t dare respond. He knows that he’d have to back up his accusation with facts — and facts are poison to lying cowards like Dan Paden.

Fresh off her phony claims about a Wisconsin man’s business dealings, Heidi Thiess is now feeding her readers some alleged “humor” about a piece of right-wing noise that was debunked days ago.

Allegations last week that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "demanded" a military jet turned out to be another steaming pile of right-wing horseshit. Pelosi had made no such “demand”. In fact, House Sergeant at Arms Bill Livingwood released a statement days ago stating that he had “request[ed] an aircraft that is capable of making non-stop flights for security purposes”. Be very clear on this: House Sergeant at Arms Bill Livingwood requested the plane. Pelosi did not.

But Heidi never met a lie she wasn’t willing to repeat, if it means smearing someone with whom she disagrees politically. Today Yesterday she posted, without comment, a political cartoon describing a fantasized conversation between Pelosi and an aide, who exults that the Department of Defense “caved” and gave Pelosi the “bigger plane [she] demanded”. Heidi is lying to her readers — yet again.

Alas, Heidi still has not learned that lies always end up coming back to bite the person who invents them — or who helps spread them. If Heidi has any thread of honesty in her, she keeps it well hidden. It’s a pity, really… she could probably become a decent person, if she wasn’t so addicted to spreading naked race hatred and obvious lies.

UPDATE 02/14/07 07:15 AM EST: Heidi has pulled the post... No, she hasn’t. Looks like she merely changed the date on which the post was made, rendering my original link invalid. It’s been corrected above.

Today’s Penny Arcade is spot on. How many newscasts like this have you seen?

Found this on Chaotic Utopia... It’s a truly amazing and thought-provoking exposition of what the Web — no, scratch that, what we who are on the Web are doing to change the way we communicate, think, and learn.

Heidi "call me a cold-hearted bitch" Thiess has a history of not bothering to check the ‘facts’ she relies upon for her hysterical pronouncements. And she remains true to her creed: Mouth off first, check reality never.

Heidi claimed last week that the online businesses run by a Muslim she had decided to target for harassment were not “legitimate”, based solely on the fact that the one database she checked did not include a listing. Now, never mind the fact that the database site clearly states that it does not list all businesses in the state of Wisconsin — Heidi knows better than to allow herself to be distracted by such factual minutiae.

Alas for Heidi, some of her readers have a few more working brain cells than she does. One of them has discovered that the businesses in question are in fact registered with the state. Heidi’s incompetence has been exposed by one of her own. Of course, she is ignoring this inconvenient turn of events. Much better to just go on bravely posting the names of Muslims that she wants to have harassed.

Heidi, the same standard you applied to Faisal Khetani now applies to you: You did not tell the truth — and that makes you suspect. Please continue to be the same dishonest, untrustworthy bigot you have always been. No one can do as thorough a job of discrediting you as you yourself have done.

The denizens of Boston — no, make that the citizenry of the entire state of Massachussetts — should be afraid, very afraid. Their city and state are being run by complete incompetents who can easily be thrown into a panic by blinking lights:

Boston temporarily closed parts of bridges, subway stations, an Interstate highway and even part of the Charles River on Wednesday after the authorities found what the police described as suspicious devices at nine places.

But the devices, which included circuit boards, turned out to be part of a marketing campaign by Turner Broadcasting to advertise a cartoon television show, “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.”

...

From the time that the first device was found around 8 a.m., hanging from a steel beam under Interstate 93 at the Sullivan Square subway station, more reports of sightings kept trickling in. They included on the Longfellow and Boston University Bridges, in a room at the Tufts-New England Medical Center, on an overpass in Somerville and at intersections here and in Cambridge.

Explosives experts removed the device at Sullivan Square. Northbound Route I-93 and Storrow Drive were briefly closed. A Coast Guard cutter blocked off a section of the Charles River for several hours. Officials from the F.B.I. and the Homeland Security Department were called in, as well as bomb squads, and extra police officers were deployed around the city.

This is raw, unbridled stupidity at work. Who needs bombs or jet aircraft, when you can shut down a city and panic its so-called leaders with little blinky lights?

John Brownlee nails it:

This entire thing was very funny and wonderful up until the point that freelance artists hired to do an advertising campaign started being arrested. Then, it just became disgusting. There’s no other way to say this: the City of Boston had a panic attack over something that was just obviously innocuous and meant in good fun. The ‘potential explosives’ the Bomb Squad scrambled around the city to blow up were essentially Lite-Brites. This is a fantastically absurd example of how the highly politicized paranoia of September 11th has come at the cost of any degree of common sense, let alone a sense of fun. Peter Berdovsky is in jail right now because politicans have so terrorized their own constituencies that pictures of cartoon characters are now considered genuine terrorist threats.

The authorities created this panic, not the folks who put these things out. Every single official who contributed to this farce should be fired immediately. Unfortunately, we all know this isn’t going to happen — these morons have made very public jackasses of themselves, and to save face they are going to go on pretending that some imaginary crime was actually committed.

Some meat thinks. Some doesn’t. This is what one chunk of meat has on its mind.
