Oak Leaf: What the Hell Are You Smoking?

Boy, the wingnuttery at StopTheACLU.com knows no bounds. The faux-military moron "Oak Leaf" says:

With their new majority, the Democrats now have tremendous responsibility. From this day forward, every soldier that perishes in SW Asia is blood on the hands of Speaker Pelosi until every soldier comes home.

Jesus Christ on a pogo stick. What meds is this asswipe on? “Oak Leaf” clearly hasn’t been paying attention these past six years — or he has developed a deliberate case of amnesia of convenience. Here are a few facts that he has decided to ‘forget’:

  • Nancy Pelosi is not the Speaker of the House today.
  • Nancy Pelosi is not the Commander-In-Chief today.
  • George W. Bush is the Commander-In-Chief today.
  • George W. Bush will be the Commander-In-Chief for two more years.
  • George W. Bush declared war in Iraq.
  • George W. Bush sold the war in Iraq on the basis of false claims that that country possessed WMDs.

George W. Bush is responsible for sending our soldiers into Iraq. George W. Bush is responsible for their deaths.

I’ve always thought that Jay “rope + tree + ACLU lawyer = pinata” Stephenson has been very careful to recruit only the most reality-challenged as contributors to his site. Now we have the proof.

UPDATE 11/08/06 9:05 AM EST: Why, one must ask, is “Oak Leaf” suddenly so concerned about the deaths of our soldiers in Iraq now, as opposed to the deaths of all the soldiers who lost their lives before yesterday’s election? Oh, wait, I know… that’s because the new wingnut talking point is that the death toll of Americans in Iraq has been “quite minute”.

UPDATE 11/08/06 3:05 PM EST: And here is “Oak Leaf’s latest whine:

On November 7, 2006, the American people stripped the honor of all my comrades.

News flash, “Leaf”: If the honor of the US military is wholly dependent upon the outcome of domestic elections, which the right keeps telling us are part of the freedoms the military is protecting, then that honor was on pretty thin ice to begin with.

Honor can only be earned — or lost — by the actions of the person who possesses that honor. All “Leaf” has proven is that he simply does not understand the concepts of personal honor or personal responsibility.

No. I am certain “Oak Leaf” means the term as in the phrase “comrades in arms”. He’s simply confused about what honor is, and where it comes from.

Ok, maybe you’re right on that. Went over and checked it out:

After all, this is a “war” in which only 1% of the population has been asked to make any kind of sacrifice. The only “sacrifice” that the 99% of the American Population has to make is having to watch the media coverage of it on television.

But it’s painfully bad TV. We’re all sacrificing by watching it. Of course, we could turn the channel, but it’s on all the channels except the history channel.

Maybe we’ve finally found something to displace Hitler on the History channel but we’ll need a respectable pause before the news clips can be compiled.

Every soldier that I have spoken to today is in a state of disbelief.

I believe he may have a captive audience there. I asked a few and they were doing the jig today. Gleeful jigs.

It took 30 years for the uniformed military to “shake” away the ghost of SE Asia. It will now take another 30 years for the uniformed military to “shake” away the ghost of SW Asia.

Talk about stupidity. How about stay out of Asia? They keep on kicking your ass. Maybe you should stick with attacking small countries like Panama, El Salvador, Kosovo, Grenada. That kind of stuff. And stay out of Africa too. That Mogadishu stuff wasn’t too pretty either.

When the American People, through the Congress, pulled out of Vietnam, my brothers of that past generation lost their honor.

Oh, I doubt that. The American people and congress don’t bestow or taketh away honor. If you serve with honor, it’s your service. Get a clue dumbass.

My point exactly. Anyone who believes that honor can be removed by an outside agency does not understand what honor is, nor from whence it derives.
